Dogs are just like humans - to be motivated enough to work hard usually requires an incentive or reward. The higher value or more novel the reward the more focus you’ll have. Tug-E-Nuff toys get such impressive results because, for your dog, they are a reward worth working for.

Let’s look at some of the ways Tug-E-Nuff toys can be used to overcome training struggles...

Recall

In our Play Survey of nearly 3,000 dog owners, 50 per cent of owners told us recall is the training area they struggle with the most. In the same survey, almost half of dog owners credited their Tug-E-Nuff toy with transforming their recall. So why are Tug-E-Nuff toys so good for training recall? It’s because they are so motivational that returning when called for a play with a Tug-E-Nuff toy is more appealing than any distraction.

Puppies

Puppies are obviously adorable, but they almost always go through a teething / mouthing / biting stage, which can be tricky to manage for new owners. Tug-E-Nuff toys definitely aren’t chew toys, but they can offer a controlled outlet for puppies to satisfy their urge to mouth things. Mouthing can be redirected to the bite area of a Tug-E-Nuff toy for a supervised, interactive game of tug.

Distractions

Lots of dogs will concentrate beautifully when training at home, but struggle when out and about. This is where our range of pocket tugs, like this [name of pocket tug toy being shown], comes in handy. These tugs are designed to be small enough to fold up and pop in your pocket. This means you can take a toy with you everywhere, so you always have a powerful reward ready to be pulled out whenever you need it.

Sports dogs

By ‘sports dogs’, we mean any dog which takes part in any sport - from agility and flyball to canicross and mantrailing. Tug-E-Nuff toys provide a tried-and-tested way to build drive in sports dogs - meaning they work harder and run faster when it matters most. I take part in canicross and bikejor with my own sheepdogs, and I always take their favourite Tug-E-Nuff toys with me to help drive them forward and to use as a reward at the end of training or races.
